My Tips for an Easier Labor!

My Tips for Labor!

-Deep calming belly breaths & deep relaxation.

-Tune out distractions as much as possible! Rely on your instincts.

-Set the mood for a peaceful birth environment; dim the lights, put out some battery operated candles, diffuse some relaxing lavender, listen to something soothing!

-Freedom of movement; you want to be able to move into different positions as instincts dictate or your doula suggests; walking can shorten labor by 20%!

-Drink water, Eat dates to maintain energy.

-Void bowels often; urinate every hour even if you don’t feel you have too.

-Positive Attitude & Birth Companions are key! No Debby downers or negativity.

-Massage & reflexology techniques to ease pain during contractions, such as hip squeezes, lower back counter pressure, using a rebozo for abdominal support, holding into a bar/rope to squeeze/pull, squeezing wooden comb in palms, rotating on a birth ball, using massage on the back, neck, hands, feet or legs, etc!

Hoping you have a positive and empowering labor!
